Jeremiah 47:

This is the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Phi·lisʹtines, before Pharʹaoh struck down Gazʹa.

And everyone dwelling in the land will wail.

For their hands fall limp,

Who are the remaining ones from the island of Caphʹtor.

How long will you keep making cuts on yourself?

And their downfall is approaching quickly.

Tell them: ‘O how the mighty rod has been broken, the staff of beauty!’

And he will bring your fortified places to ruin.

Ask the man fleeing and the woman escaping, ‘What has happened?’

Proclaim in Arʹnon that Moʹab has been destroyed.

“Judgment has come to the level land, against Hoʹlon, Jaʹhaz, and Mephʹa·ath;

against Diʹbon, Neʹbo, and Beth-dib·la·thaʹim;

against Kir·i·a·thaʹim, Beth-gaʹmul, and Beth-meʹon;

against Keʹri·oth and Bozʹrah; and against all the cities of the land of Moʹab, those far and near.

His arm has been broken,’ declares Jehovah.

And he is an object of ridicule.

So that you should shake your head and speak against him?

And become like a dove that nests along the sides of the gorge.’”

About his arrogance, his pride, his haughtiness, and the loftiness of his heart.”

They will do nothing.

And moan for the men of Kir-heʹres.

The destroyer has descended.

The shouting will be different shouting.’”

And the skull of the sons of tumult.’

And your daughters have gone into exile.
