Bible Reading assignment: Isa 64:4-12
it “Mercy” ¶11
Isaiah 62:
1 And her salvation burns like a torch.
2 Which Jehovah’s own mouth will designate.
3 A royal turban in the palm of your God.
4 And your land will be as one married.
5 Your God will rejoice over you.
6 Do not rest,
7 Yes, until he makes her the praise of the earth.”
8 Nor will foreigners drink your new wine, for which you have toiled.
9 And those collecting it will drink it in my holy courtyards.”
10 Raise up a signal for the peoples.
11 And the wage he pays is before him.’”
12 And you will be called Sought After, a City Not Abandoned.
Isaiah 63:
1 The One with great power to save.”
2 And why are your garments like those of one treading the winepress?
3 And I have stained all my clothing.
4 And the year of my repurchased ones has come.
5 And my own wrath supported me.
6 And poured out their blood on the ground.”
7 According to his mercy and his great loyal love.
8 So he became their Savior.
9 And he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
10 And he fought against them.
11 Where is the One who put within him His holy spirit,
12 To make an everlasting name for himself,
13 Like a horse in the open country?
14 To make a majestic name for yourself.
15 They are withheld from me.
16 Our Repurchaser of long ago is your name.
17 The tribes of your inheritance.
18 Our adversaries have trampled on your sanctuary.
19 Like those never called by your name.
Isaiah 64:
1 So that the mountains would quake because of you,
2 And the nations would tremble before you!
3 You came down, and the mountains quaked before you.
4 Who acts in behalf of those who keep in expectation of him.
5 Should we now be saved?
6 And our errors will carry us off like the wind.
7 And you cause us to waste away because of our error.
8 We are all the work of your hand.
9 Look at us, please, for we are all your people.
10 Jerusalem a wasteland.
11 And all the things we cherished lie in ruins.
12 Will you remain silent and let us be afflicted so severely?
