it “Quarry” ¶2
Isaiah 50:
1 And because of your own transgressions your mother was sent away.
2 And they die because of thirst.
3 And I make sackcloth their covering.”
4 He awakens my ear to listen like the taught ones.
5 I did not turn in the opposite direction.
6 I did not hide my face from humiliating things and from spit.
7 And I know that I will not be put to shame.
8 Let him approach me.
9 A moth will eat them up.
10 Let him trust in the name of Jehovah and support himself on his God.
11 In sheer pain you will lie down.
Isaiah 51:
1 And to the quarry from which you were dug.
2 And I blessed him and made him many.
3 Thanksgiving and melodious song.
4 And my justice I will establish as a light to the peoples.
5 And for my arm they will wait.
6 And my righteousness will never fail.
7 And do not be terrified because of their insults.
8 And my salvation for all generations.”
9 Who pierced the sea monster?
10 The one who made the depths of the sea a roadway for the repurchased ones to cross?
11 And grief and sighing will flee away.
12 And of a son of man who will wither like green grass?
13 Where, now, is the rage of the oppressor?
14 Nor will his bread be lacking.
15 —Jehovah of armies is his name.
16 And to say to Zion, ‘You are my people.’
17 You have drained out the cup causing staggering.
18 And not one of all the sons whom she raised has taken hold of her hand.
19 Who will comfort you?
20 They are full of the wrath of Jehovah, the rebuke of your God.”
21 O woman afflicted and drunk, though not with wine.
22 You will never drink it again.
23 Like a street for them to walk on.”
