ISAIAH 33-35

Isaiah 33:
1 When you finish betraying, you will be betrayed.
2 Yes, our salvation in the time of distress.
3 When you rise up, nations scatter.
4 People will rush on it like swarms of locusts.
5 He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.
6 —This is his treasure.
7 The messengers of peace weep bitterly.
8 He shows no regard for mortal man.
9 And Baʹshan and Carʹmel shake off their leaves.
10 Now I will magnify myself.
11 Your own spirit will consume you like a fire.
12 As thorns cut down, they will be set ablaze with fire.
13 And you who are nearby, acknowledge my might!
14 Who of us can live with unquenchable flames?’
15 And who shuts his eyes to avoid seeing what is bad
16 And his water supply will never fail.”
17 They will see a land far away.
18 Where is the one who counted the towers?”
19 Whose stammering tongue you cannot understand.
20 And none of its ropes will be torn apart.
21 And no majestic ships will pass by.
22 He is the One who will save us.
23 Even the lame will take much plunder.
24 The people dwelling in the land will be pardoned for their error.
Isaiah 34:
1 The land and all its produce.
2 He will give them to the slaughter.
3 The mountains will melt because of their blood.
4 And a shriveled fig from the fig tree.
5 On the people whom I devoted to destruction.
6 A great slaughter in the land of Eʹdom.
7 And their dust will be soaked with fat.”
8 A year of retribution for the legal case over Zion.
9 And her land will become like burning pitch.
10 No one will pass through her forever and ever.
11 And the plumb line of desolation.
12 And all her princes will come to nothing.
13 An enclosure for ostriches.
14 Yes, there the nightjar will settle and find a place of rest.
15 Yes, there the kites will gather, each one with her mate.
16 And it is his spirit that has gathered them together.
17 They will reside in it throughout all generations.
Isaiah 35:
1 And the desert plain will be joyful and blossom as the saffron.
2 They will see the glory of Jehovah, the splendor of our God.
3 And make firm the knees that are shaking.
4 He will come and save you.”
5 And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
6 And streams in the desert plain.
7 There will be green grass and reeds and papyrus.
8 No one foolish will stray onto it.
9 Only the repurchased ones will walk there.
10 And grief and sighing will flee away.
